About The Role
Reporting to the IAM Team Lead, the role of the Platform Engineer is to support the ongoing maturity of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform at Motability Operations.

As part of the IAM team, within the Motability Operations Security function, the role holder will be key to the further expansion of the IAM platform and its continuous improvement. The individual will work with the wider team to understand emerging technical requirements, determine how to achieve these requirements, and ultimately deliver them into production – all while championing modern best practices in a cloud environment.

Day-to-day, this could range from deploying new infrastructure to AWS, changing Apache/Nginx configuration, troubleshooting a less-than-performant Java process, or helping to onboard new business areas to the platform.

The tooling/technology suite currently in-place is Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Docker and AWS.

About You
This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about building/supporting secure cloud infrastructure and developing new skills (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, mTLS).

The ideal candidate must have experience in dev ops, containerization, and identifying/fixing technical problems. Ideally the candidate would have experience working on Ping Identity or a similar IAM tool, but this is not mandatory.

This role is suited for someone who is a self-starter, thrives for quality and makes others better.

 
Minimum Criteria
  • Experience building and maintaining a highly available and secure infrastructure in AWS, utilising automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience supporting both Linux and Windows systems
  • Experience supporting production Java applications
  • Good knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, CloudFront)
  • Experience of working within an Agile environment
  • Experience of Jenkins, BitBucket and JIRA
