About The Role
This role is required to fulfil the need for a Quality Engineer (QE) within our Digital Infrastructure team.

As part of a new project team, you will be working on and responsible for testing the Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategic tool that manages our SSO and MFA offering this will include:
  • Participating in creating ways of working and QE governance of the project
  • Working with various project streams to migrate their authentication processes to sit within one Single sign on tool
  • Testing of system integrations including roles and responsibilities to ensure users only have access to what they need
  • Identifying points of failures for end to end processes via logs and system messaging services
  • Creating and maintaining a suite of automation tests
  • Provide reporting on testing and defects
  • Work with the team to enhance the synthetic monitoring on our IAM tool
You will be working as a lone QE within the IAM team with support from other QEs in the business. You will be required to analyse requirements to assess their potential impact and to then ensure they are tested fully. This will include reviewing acceptance criteria to determine relevant test scenarios; executing tests and collaborating with other programme streams to ensure sign-off.  

This role is required to highlight any risks that may impact quality and availability of the systems being integrated into the IAM tool.  The successful candidate will have a keen interest in testing and have knowledge and experience of testing roles and responsibilities. Creating and running API testing would also be beneficial. You will also be required to participate in discussion forums and keep up with industry standards, this role will ensure we maintain the latest industry skills in software testing.

  • Ability to communicate with clarity and to have confidence in dealing with all levels of employees and external partners 
  • Be highly customer focused with ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills in a personable and professional manner
  • Able to produce comprehensive standard QE artefacts, for example, Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test Scripts, Test Execution Reports
  • Drive test documentation quality and participate in regular peer reviews of QA artefacts and in PIRs
  • Possess confidence in handling defect management and resolution processes across different test phases.
Minimum Criteria:
  • Considerable experience in software testing including business critical web and desktop applications with multiple integration points
  • Experience in Business engagement and stakeholder management, ideally within an IT project environment
  • Demonstrate technical ability with a desire to learn further technical skills & potentially developing automation skills
  • System integration testing including creating and executing API tests
  • Knowledge of tools that allow database interrogation i.e. SQL 
  • Evidence of strong organisational and communication skills
  • Experience of using Atlassian suite of tools
