About The Role
This is a key role in the Business Systems department. The position will be focused delivering Infrastructure projects supporting the delivery of our IT Strategy Roadmap. This role requires an experienced delivery focussed project manager drive to succeed in a challenging and rewarding environment. Our IT Strategy Roadmap defines our next steps in replacing legacy systems and delivering efficiency, innovation and future business agility.

This position is a great opportunity for the right person to be part of a dynamic and fast moving team. The project manager will have ample opportunities to further develop their skills and experiences in a technology focused IT organisation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Direct and manage project lifecycle from the point of inception to go-live including early life support
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Develop and track realistic project plans and manage project milestones, dependencies and critical path
  • Organising and facilitating project planning, and delivery e.g. daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives
  • Assist with negotiations with 3rd party suppliers and vendors and demonstrate value for money spent / budgeted where required
  • Manage all relevant 3rd party resource and relationships required to deliver the project including bringing together multiple 3rd party plans and managing delivery of the overall plan
  • Work with managers and teams to accurately estimate the skills, resources and infrastructure required to deliver the project goals
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team, escalating appropriately when necessary
  • Maintain and track a RAID register for the project to maintain delivery focus
  • Deliver status reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • To influence/ liaise and effectively communicate with all key stakeholder, primarily managing the project Owners’ Group
  • Build, develop, and grow any business systems and business relationships vital to the success of the project and deliver effective communication plans
    About You
    You will have gained the following experience/skills:
    • Experience working in an IT environment and experience of infrastructure project work
    • Proven experience within a structured framework delivering / working on projects
    • Experience at working both in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and independently
    • Proven stakeholder management
    • Experience of Infrastructure projects
    • Experience of working in a matrix management environment
    • Experience of managing multiple 3rd party vendors and working effectively with 3rd party PMs
    • Experience in the identification, assessment and management of risks
    • Strong MS Office Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint


    • Experience of telephony & infrastructure projects
    • Knowledge of quality management systems
    • Knowledge of Portfolio Management concepts and processes
    • Knowledge of ITIL (v2 minimum)
    • ITIL CSI Module
    • Prince2 Practitioner or equivalent certification
    • Intermediate level ability in MS Project and other project planning software
