About The Role
We are looking for a passionate, hands-on, cloud platform infrastructure engineer to play a key role in the development, support and continual improvement of robust, automated cloud services. This role requires working closely with application and development groups to ensure that the platform continuously supports business needs as well as fulfilling core network and security requirement. This is a great opportunity for someone with the technical aptitude, passion and drive to help support and improve cloud infrastructure services with focus on using the latest methodologies and technologies.

Responsibilities include:
 
Technical
  • Continual improvement of the cloud platform services Network and Security services
  • Uphold and improve best practice processes, standards and controls
  • Assist in delivering a proactive support and management capability for our cloud platform
  • Providing timely and professional communication to key management, customers and stakeholders
  • Technical engagements with 3rd parties, vendors and suppliers
  • Contribute to a DevOps culture of collaboration, communication and automation

Operational Responsibilities

  • Deliver, support, maintain and constantly improve Cloud Platform Network and Security infrastructure services by following best practices and standards
  • Maintain performance, availability, security and capacity needs for the business
  • Ensure service continuity and audit requirements are supported through the use of appropriate systems resilience, redundancy, backup and recovery
  • Support the design and delivery of new and existing services
  • Evaluate intrusion detection and prevention on regular basis
  • Drive continual improvement and efficiency through the automation of cloud platform operations
  • Maintain up to date Documentation of cloud platform configuration, processes and procedures
  • Support the migration and delivery of new and existing services onto cloud platforms   
About You
You will have gained the following skills/experience:
 
Mandatory
  • Understanding network concepts between On-premise vs Hybrid vs Cloud Model
  • Proficient knowledge with AWS Networking services ie VPC, Direct Connect, WAF, NACL and SG
  • Exposure towards Network Infrastructure Management ( Palo Alto, Panorama or similar )
  • Core network skills (TCP/IP, Packet Capture, Dynamic Routing – BGP,OSPF)
  • Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as encryption, certificates and key management
  • Experience working with scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers/Firewalls and web standards
  • Automating delivery of Infrastructure as Code (IAC)
  • Working with development methodologies; Agile, Scrum
  • Proven experience in delivering successful Cloud based projects and services
Desirable
  • Familiarity with collaboration suites i.e. Atlassian product (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
  • Packer, Jenkins, Nexus
  • Automating provision of services using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
  • Code Repository Management (e.g. GitHub, Subversion, Bitbucket)
  • Experience with container technologies using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Automating services in AWS, Azure
  • Experience with cloud strategy and architecture
  • Automating configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt)
