About The Role
Reporting to the Head of Audit the key responsibility of this role is to provide assurance to the Audit Committee that there are adequate, effective and appropriate controls in place within the business to mitigate risks posing a significant threat to the achievement of the organisation’s strategic objectives. The role is based in London with occasional travel to our other sites to perform audit work. 

In the Internal Audit team, we execute audits at an individual level, from planning to fieldwork to reporting, but value and use the knowledge and strengths the entire team has. 

You will also have responsibility for carrying out any consulting activities as required by the business and facilitated through the Head of Audit. 

You will be able to contribute digital solutions to audit testing including, but not limited to, continuous auditing. 

You will have opportunities to do other ad-hoc pieces of work and to participate in the current projects on our plan i.e. Data Analytics, GRC Product development and Assurance Mapping.
 
About You
You love working independently but also as part of a small team. You know how to balance being a self-starter with providing support when needed to the wider team with strong project management and team-working ability.

You are an effective and clear communicator with excellent communication skills and are articulate both orally and in writing. You are able to use diplomacy to communicate difficult messages and manage challenging situations. 

You understand the importance of building relationships with people in varying roles and at different levels across the whole business. You have the ability to influence others’ opinions and gain confidence of people at all levels.

Please note, the minimum requirements of this role are:
  • As a minimum for this role, you will have graduate level education with a recognised accountancy qualification or IIA qualification or comparable, ideally gained through a Big 4 accountancy firm
  • You should have extensive internal auditing experience gained either within financial services or a commercial environment, to include both operational and financial auditing. Experience in auditing IT controls and / or insurance operations would be beneficial
  • If you have experience in data analytics, continuous auditing and / or other digital solutions, this would be advantageous as would experience in the automotive or general insurance market
