About The Role
We are looking for a passionate, motivated and focussed individual with the ability to manage a team of highly technical network engineers. You will play a key role in the support, sustainability and continual improvement of robust and secure connectivity solutions spanning our hybrid environment.

This role, reporting to the Technical Delivery Manager, requires working closely with customers, engineering, project and support groups to ensure that our connectivity solutions support business needs as well as fulfilling core network and security requirements.

With significant investment in cloud infrastructure and automation this is a great opportunity to use your significant experience of cloud-based technologies to help the organisation deliver new capabilities and continue the transition away from existing on-premise solutions using the latest methodologies, technologies and automation.

  • Contribute to the network and infrastructure strategy & roadmap
  • Managing and mentoring a team of technical network engineers
  • Act as an escalation point for key decisions and issues
  • Responsible for the successful operation, monitoring, reporting and security of the corporate hybrid network infrastructure
  • Take ownership of Incidents and Problems through to resolution
  • Ensuring service desk tickets assigned have appropriate owners, progressed and closed in a timely fashion
  • Take part in out of hours escalation call rota
  • Organising and facilitating team task planning, and delivery e.g. daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives
  • Manage 3rd party resource and relationships required to deliver appropriate support services and demonstrate value for money where required
  • Deliver timely reporting, proposals and documentation
  • Proactively manage changes in team demand and scope, identify potential issues and devise alternate plans as appropriate
  • Accountable and responsible for network budgets
About You
You will have gained the following minimum criteria:

  • You will have demonstrable experience of adhering to strict change management, audit and compliance policies through the implementation of robust operational processes and controls
  • You will have the ability to demonstrate pragmatism & resilience in the face of shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • You will be someone who can demonstrate critical thinking, planning and organising skills.
  • You are keen to embrace and embed a culture of collaboration, communication and automation.
Minimum criteria:
  • Proven experience in supporting cloud-based connectivity services
  • Exposure towards cloud security, identity, & compliance services
  • Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as encryption, certificates and key management.
  • Experience working with scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers/Firewalls and web standards
  • Exposure towards cloud strategy, architecture & best practices
  • Understanding network concepts between on-premise vs hybrid vs cloud model
  • Working with development methodologies: Agile, Scrum
  • Proven experience of managing finances including planning of budgets and tracking of actuals against forecast
  • Experience of managing multiple 3rd party vendors, managed service providers and working effectively with 3rd parties
  • Experience in the identification, assessment and management of risks
  • AWS and/or CISCO Certified
  • Proficient knowledge of AWS Networking services i.e. VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateways, WAF, NACL, SG etc.
  • Exposure towards Network Infrastructure Management (Palo Alto, Panorama, Tufin or similar)
  • Core network skills (TCP/IP, Packet Capture, Dynamic Routing – BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
