About The Role
6 months contract, Inside IR35
The mission of the VRM Programme is to remove reliance on legacy technology whilst unlocking business value by providing a suite of robust, flexible and sustainable products that can be evolved in line with business strategy.

We have an opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic Business Analyst to perform a key role on our VRM (Vehicle Remarketing) Programme. Based in Bristol (office and home based), you’ll be working in a fast paced, collaborative Agile (SCRUM) environment reporting into the Business Analysis Team Lead.

Working closely with the Product Owner, project team and our implementation partners, you will support the delivery of this high profile £multi-million strategic project.

You’ll be joining an established multi team programme of work, started 2 years ago, currently working to an aggressive timeline to deliver the decommissioning of Legacy systems, before transitioning to a Product Team Model. You will play an important role as we deliver one of the core products which will underpin and support the future business vision and strategy.

Key accountabilities

As a Business Analyst on this team, you will…. 
Define Scope and Requirements
  • Able to understand and articulate the overall goal of the project as well as the details
  • Work closely with the Product Owner to ensure that relevant user stories and requirements are identified and documented following the INVEST principles & are groomed ready for sprint planning
  • Understand the value delivered by each requirement, in the context of the wider programme and business vision
  • Consult with the right subject matter experts for input of detail into each story
  • Define requirements that fulfil the needs of customers and stakeholders
  • Non/Cross-functional requirements are identified and agreed
  • Constantly evaluate and prioritise the stories and requirements in the backlog, taking into account impact assessment of up and downstream components
  • Build the definition of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and subsequent releases 
  • Act as a bridge between the business users and the product development teams
  • Encourage collaboration within and across teams
  • Provide any visual aids so teams can easily understand information
  • Nurture and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders 
  • Ensure impacted stakeholders are kept up to date with all proposed solutions as they evolveCoordinate & facilitate workshops as required
Planning and Process
  • Ensure that there are enough stories that are analysed and ready for each iteration
  • Positively contribute to all scrum ceremonies (e.g. planning, stand ups, retrospectives)
  • Discuss and find ways of improving processes or communications
About You
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst who has demonstrable experience of working both independently and as a member of an established team. We would expect you to want to understand how changes and solutions impact stakeholder operations, resourcing and processes. You should enjoy working with technology, data and systems and can understand how these might be employed by the business community. You must be able to demonstrate how business analysis is executed effectively from the moment of engagement through to delivery of a solution that meets our stakeholders’ needs.

We value individuals who are self-starters and highly motivated, can communicate clearly, understand business needs and balance that against the team’s pace and the urgency to get things done. We would expect you to highlight risk effectively, improve processes and contribute to all the team’s ceremonies. 

You should have a keen interest in business problems and be passionate about delivering solutions, talk in terms of solution with business stakeholders and be comfortable with being pragmatic or saying ‘no’ where appropriate.

We would like a self-starter with initiative, enthusiasm and ambition and a strong interest in developing their skill set. You should be able to work closely with other members of the Business Analysis team to understand skills and techniques currently in use to ensure reuse and continuous improvement.
Minimum Criteria
  • Demonstrable experience within a Business Analysis capacity
  • Exceptional Stakeholder management capability
  • Demonstrable working experience of Scrum in Agile, in a multi team environment
  • Proven record of effectively identifying and managing dependencies across various streams of work
  • The ability to develop domain knowledge quickly
  • Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
